Biggys Story ♡

Chelsea Walsh

Hey, I'm Biggy (Chels) and I own Biggy Barbers Sleaford. EVERYONE is welcome at Biggys. ALL short styles and longer masculine cuts is what i do. Afro hair, womens short short styles, patterns, beards... the lot! All certification and over £15k spent on my barber education.  I also teach at salons or barbershops to keep everyones skills up, new styles, and much more. I actually wanted to be barber because I was always refused as a woman and had to cut my own hair and fell in love with it... so these people did me a favour in a way. Haha.

I've been through 100s of barbershops and been refused as a woman. This is down to 2/3 reasons...
1. They have on a sign it's a 'gentleman's barbers'. Fair enough. A mens only space. Understood.
2. Religious reasons. If this is the case I'd just ask that you say that when you turn women away, otherwise they feel stupid infront of a packed shop that they've been waiting in.
3. They don't know how to cut hair. They know 1 cut for the top, and 2 bk n sides, potentially a skin fade. Women trying to use the Barbers is because they want a Barbers cut. It's not rocket science.  They want a cut that hairdressers won't do/go that short. So as a barber who is only trained without certification and in 2 or 3 hair cuts... say that. Tell the women, "sorry we don't cut women's hair as we don't know how." Otherwise you are shaming women and it's embarrassing for us. Especially when the cut is the same as the men's, it's just styled differently. It's not rocket science.

Also barber shops... it's not a 'MENS' thing... haha. It's a short hair thing. If you look at it any otherway, as a barber... I'd say try barberschool and get some education on the history and new skills, and cleanliness skills.

At Biggys, I offer the luxury of being a 1 woman band, so the shop is yours. No toxic energy, just some music, a drink, & plenty to look at. We can either have a chat (I'm really good at those), or you can request a silent appointment if you're having a shitty/anxious/low day, just put 'silent app' in the comments when you book.

I have appointments, so 99% of your time here, it's just me and you fella (I call everyone fella♡).  All genders are welcome here as I cut everyone's hair as long as it's a short style or a masculine longer style. All ages are welcome, and for 1st haircuts, I have a certificate to take home, which we add a lock of hair to ♡ Best Haircut you'll ever have or money back!

80% of my clients are SEN/ASD kids, which is why I have appointments.
